The City View Journal
Well, the new Splash Pad got LOTS of use this summer! People from all over City View and surrounding neighborhoods enjoyed getting cooled off in the hot summer sun! Just a reminder: School starts on August 25th and the last day of the Splash Pad will be Labor Day!
Speaking of school. I was contacted the other day by the PTA President, Ayvrie Dixon, and she told me that the PTA would like involvement from the neighborhood in all their projects. Did you know that you don't have to have children/grandchildren in City View Elementary to be a PTA member??? Randy and I will be joining so we can help support our kids! The membership dues are only $5.50 a year! Make sure when you are on Facebook, you "Like" the City View Elementary PTA page! Get the latest updates on the "Fun Run", "Cardinal Carnival Night", and..."Christmas in the View 2" will be back on November 8th! Let's make plans to support all of our CV PTA efforts this year!
Make sure you check out the "Yard of the Week" page. Oh, my!! What beautiful yards! Thank you, Paige Fisk, for heading up that effort this year! You and your team have made awesome choices! We only have 2 more Yards of the Week left for the summer! Will YOURS be one of them???
I'm sorry we didn't get the "Party in the Park" done this year! I had so many people volunteer to help and then, the summer just got away from me! I had several who anted to wait until late summer, but that starts my busy time of year. I had some who wanted July--- well---we got the rains then! Let's shoot for late June next year! We may still have a "City View Day" this year, but it's been really hot and humid the last few nights!
Please check out the "Classified" section for info on City View business owners and babysitting. The best news for Garage Sales is our Garage Sale Page on Facebook. We have over 250 members on there! **Note: this is NOT the place for lost/found pets! For Sale items and sales ONLY! I will delete your pet posts and if you continue, I'll delete you! Sorry! This lost/found pet thing has gotten ridiculous lately! And...while I'm on the subject...the administrators of the Neighborhood Watch Page have asked that we not post them on there either, but everyone does! OK. I did it! I just created a Neighborhood Lost/Found Pet page. That way, when you lose your pet, you can see if someone has found it. You don't have to sift through the Garage sale, Our City View, and the Neighborhood Watch pages to find your pet! Find one? Post a pic! Lose one? Post a pic! So...right now....go take a good pic of your pet just in case he/she decides to take a vacation without you! Our neighbors will help you find them! Done! Here's the link to the Facebook page:

***Remember: we have no official crossing guards, so watch out for the kids!!! school starts Monday,Aug 25th!
